The Occupational Therapy program has launched International Fieldwork as part of its commitment to providing the best education. If there are enough spots, participants will travel to another country for II-B Fieldwork.
Students will have the chance to grow professionally and make a difference in the lives around the globe. The number of spots and actual clinical work that will be done abroad will depend on the host country’s needs.
4. Oxford Honors Program
The Honors program is offered during the summer term and includes students on each campus. The program offers a hybrid ten-week WCU course for students who are interested in global health. It also examines poverty and disparity within a health continuum.
This course examines diversity, foreign aid, alternative delivery systems for healthcare, and current strategies for nursing care in a multi-cultural environment. Students can attend Oxford guest lectures, take part in cultural excursions, and visit local hospitals to see the National Health Services’ medical care.
Participants will have the opportunity to travel internationally and learn from the most innovative thought-leaders in healthcare. Students will also be able to expand their knowledge of core concepts and become more engaged leaders in healthcare while learning from international experts.
5. International Oral Health Program
West Coast University will provide oral health education programs to its students to enable them to provide competent care to diverse populations.
This competency can be developed through international clinical work. The dental hygiene program has launched the International Oral Health Program as part of its ongoing commitment to providing the best education. Participants can travel for two weeks abroad as part of their dental public-health training.
Students will have the chance to grow professionally and learn about different cultures. While the clinical work done abroad will vary depending on the community’s needs, it will be very similar to those WCU students in the United States carry out.
