JOB DESCRIPTION – AVAILABLE CATEGORIES

1. ENUMERATORS

ENUMERATORS JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Census officers are crucial to the counting process and are, therefore, the front-line soldiers of the entire census army.
  • To communicate with the public and to obtain census data.
  • Interview all households and individuals within the EAS assigned. Use the appropriate questionnaires in the electronic data collector device. Complete the record of work.
  • Report daily to the field supervisor.
  • You can get instructions and feedback from the data quality manager via the LGA’s data assistant.
  • If the supervisor or field coordinator cannot resolve the problem, refer to the DQM/DQA for assistance with PDA problems.

ENUMERATOR JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Be a Nigerian.
  • Learn the language of your local community
  • ICT proficiency.
  • Mathematics basics literacy
  • A minimum of SSCE/OND is required.
  • Between the ages of 20 and 35 years.
  • Can speak English
  • A functional email address and phone number are essential.
  • A national identification number.

2. CENSUS FACILITATORS AND TRAINERS

CENSUS FACILITATORS AND TRAINER’S JOB REQUIREMENTS.

  • The core technical officers are the program managers who have created the instruments. They are called master trainers. National trainers are people who have experience in surveying and are computer-literate.
  • It is your job to absorb the training manual and explain it empirically to other census functionaries
  • Be a Nigerian.
  • Teachers or lecturers are preferred.
  • You must have excellent presentation skills.
  • Basic office skills (word or Powerpoint are an advantage)
  • Minimum HND/First degree
  • Alternate between 35 and 50 years.
  • Experience in the field of surveying would be an advantage.

3. SPECIALISED WORKERS (SW)

SPECIALISED (SW) JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Data collection (field operations, analysis).
  • As Specialized Workers, you should be able to use Digital tools such as smartphones, laptops and cloud tools
  • Excel or Sheets knowledge
  • Knowledge document processor (Word, Docs).
  • The basics of presentation apps (PowerPoint and slides).
  • Information about emailing services (Gmail, outlook).
  • The basics of web and mobile applications.
  • Age between 20 and 40 years.
  • Minimum qualifications, HND/BSC/BA
  • You must pass to be eligible for the online census certification course.

4. FIELD SUPERVISOR

FIELD SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION.

  • The field supervisor leads between three to six pairs of enumerators. He/she is closely associated with the field coordinator.
  • All difficulties that the enumerators may report to him/her include refusals and non-contacts.
  • Verify that the team has visited all dwellings within the EAS (enumeration area).
  • To ensure smooth work, establish good working relationships between the military, civilians, village head, and other authorities.
  • Monitors each EA and provides a daily report to field coordinators on the progress of census work.
  • Assist the enumerators in ensuring their safety.
  • After completing their task, clear the enumerators.

FIELD SUPERVISOR JOB REQUIREMENT.

  • Between 25 and 45 years old

5. FIELD COORDINATOR

FIELD COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY.

  • A field coordinator coordinates the activities of five supervisors and 50 enumerators.
  • Field coordinators are assigned to five SAS for the census. Field coordinators have the following responsibilities:
  • Responsible for between 30 to 50 supervisors.
  • Assist in the entry of the community into the institutions or communities.
  • Addresses boundary issues and maps within the assigned areas.
  • You ensure that supervisors are always present on the field
  • Receives feedback and provides feedback to supervisors or enumerators.
  • After completing their tasks, clears them from the field supervisors.
  • Recommend substitutions and reassignment ea ids when necessary during census exercise.
  • Coordinate the logistics of human resources and materials within the area.
  • Notify the comptroller of replacing supervisors and enumerators who are unable or unwilling to perform their duties.

FIELD COORDINATOR JOB REQUIREMENT.

  • Minimum HND/First degree
  • Between the ages of 30-50

6. QUALITY ASSURANCES

QUALITY ASSURANCE JOB DESCRIPTION.

  • Field coordinators are supported by quality assurance assistants (or rovers) who move from one EA to the next to ensure smooth fieldwork. He can move between five SAS.
  • All technical issues should be reported to the field coordinator.
  • Ground truthing is performed for all flagged within the assigned boundary.
  • He makes sure that corrective action is taken promptly.
  • When the PDA is not working correctly, assist the enumerators (i.e., Provide ICT support.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NPC RECRUITMENT APPLICATION

All candidates must possess the following documents to be considered for engagement and consideration:

  • National Identification Number (NIN). – It is essential, as you can proceed with the application without it. It would be best if you got your NIN number handy.
  • An account with a Functional Gmail – You need an email account that you can easily access via your device, as some communication about the exercise and selection will be sent to it. In case you don’t have a Gmail account, create one here.
  • Functional Phone Number – You will receive OTP and your application reference number, so ensure you enter a valid and correct phone number.
  • Functional / Operational Bank Account – Your Bank Details will be required only when you are selected, but you don’t need to provide that now for this application. Also, note that NYSC or Student Bank Account is not allowed.
  • Relevant Education Qualifications – The minimum educational qualification required is SSCE. Also, note that the category selected determines the qualification required.

NPC RECRUITMENT OPENING AND CLOSING DATE

The 2023 Census eRecruitment Portal will open on 27th October 2023 and close on the 10th December 2023. A temporary shutdown will be in effect from 7th through 13th November to allow for audit and assessment.

Click on the Start Application and select “Start as ad-hoc staff“. Accept all conditions by ticking the boxes and submit it will take you to a page requesting for your NIN number.

STEP 2 – NIN Verification

Enter your NIN in the space provided and hit the verify button. You should see a pop up saying your verification is successful. Kindly save the Application ID generated as you will need it later.

STEP 3 – Personal Information (Bio-Data)

Enter all necessary details like your Surname, First Name, Middle Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State of Origin, Lga, Difficulties if any, Computer Proficiency, Criminal Case if any, Language, Next of Kin Details (Name, Relationship, Phone Number). Click “NEXT” to continue.

STEP 4 – Personal Information (Residence)

Provide all necessary details, your place of residence and desire place where you wish to carry out the assignment. It is better you select a location within where you reside, once all information is filled. Click “NEXT” to continue.

STEP 5 – Contact Information

Kindly enter a valid Phone Number, click on the verify button, note in a case you did not receive any OTP (code) as an SMS after a minute or two just click on the “Validate” button, and it will verify successfully. Also enter a valid email in the field provided and Click “NEXT” to continue.

Enter your Work experience in the area of Fieldwork/Data Collection, Data Capturing/Processing, Supervisory if any, if not select no and proceed by clicking “NEXT” to continue.

STEP 8 – Facial Capture

A prompt shows up asking you to allow use of camera, click allow. A display appear requesting you to take a capture of yourself, once you discover that you are well position and the shoot is okay click on the “Capture” button and if you discover that the picture you have taken is not good enough just click on the Retake button once everything is set and okay, click on the “Next” button.

STEP 9 – Guarantor’s Information

Enter the details of your guarantor, it can be your Religious Leader, Senior Government Official, Traditional Leader, once all information is filled click on the “Next” button.

STEP 10 – Form Preview

All information you submitted will be displayed, you will be provided the opportunity to adjust if there is any wrong information and if not proceed to submit your application.

STEP 11 – Statement of Commitment and Confidentiality

Click on the box beside I CONSENT and click on the “SUBMIT” button.

STEP 12 – Registration Successful

Wow Congratulation on your First Step of successfully submitting your applications, you should receive a text message containing your Application ID in less than an hour, kindly keep it safe.

CONCLUSION

Prospective Adhoc staff cannot apply through the census portal unless they reside in the area. If they do, they will be deployed accordingly.
